Murano Squares Bandana – We Get You Started ✨🧶

Join us for another inspiring session as part of our We Get You Started series, featuring the beautiful Murano Squares Bandana by Susan Ashcroft.

Murano Squares is a fun and relaxed bandana-style project featuring a beautiful slipped-stitch pattern that creates striking colorwork while working with only one yarn per row.

It’s a wonderful project for playing with color and especially perfect for showing off a beautiful variegated, striping, or color-changing yarn. The pattern is worked flat and finished with a small seam at the back.

The instructions are both written and charted, so you can choose whichever way of following a pattern feels most comfortable to you.

Together with Laurie, we’ll go over the pattern and construction, practice the slipped-stitch technique, review how to read the written instructions and chart, talk about yarn and color choices, and help you confidently get started.

The idea behind We Get You Started is simple:
we explain, we practice, we start together  and then you continue at your own pace. 🧶✨

Please note that this is not a beginner knitting class. Basic knitting skills and pattern reading are required.

🧶 Skill Level

You should be comfortable with:

– Knit & purl stitches
– Casting on & binding off
– Following a knitting pattern
– Basic knitting techniques

No previous slipped-stitch colorwork experience is required!

🧵 Please Come Prepared With

– Your Murano Squares Bandana pattern
– Two contrasting yarns – approximately 165 yards each
– US 7 / 4.5 mm needles, or size appropriate for your chosen yarn
– Tapestry needle & basic knitting notions

The pattern is written for DK weight yarn, but it can also be worked in other yarn weights — just keep in mind that changing the yarn weight may affect your yardage requirements and finished size.

✨ Have fun with your yarn choices! This is a wonderful project for pairing a solid yarn with something a little more adventurous , think variegated, self-striping, color-changing, or one of those beautiful skeins you’ve been waiting to use.

Registration & Cancellation Policy

Cancellations made less than 48 hours before the event are non-refundable and non-transferable.

A minimum of 3 participants is required. If the minimum is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel or reschedule the session. Participants will receive a refund and priority access to a future session.
