Discover the beauty of delicate stitches and airy patterns!

Join us for a relaxed and inspiring workshop and learn the beautiful technique of lace knitting. By combining yarn overs and decreases, you can create decorative openings and lovely patterns - perfect for scarves, shawls, Sweaters and more!

Together with Laurie, you’ll explore the stitches and techniques behind lace knitting, with hands-on guidance every step of the way. We’ll practice reading written lace patterns and simple charts, understanding common abbreviations and symbols, and keeping track of your stitches and pattern repeats. There will be plenty of time to practice, ask questions, and build confidence.

This workshop focuses on learning the lace knitting technique. At the end of class, Laurie will introduce a few easy, beginner-friendly lace patterns to inspire your first project. 🤍

🧶 Skill Level

This workshop is perfect for knitters who are ready to explore a new technique.

You should be comfortable with:

– Casting on
– Basic knit and purl stitches

No previous lace knitting experience is required!

🧵 Please Come Prepared With

– DK-weight yarn - practice yarn or leftover yarn from your stash is welcome
– Preferably a light, solid color so you can easily see your stitches
– Circular knitting needles in a size appropriate for your chosen yarn - we’ll be knitting flat, back and forth in rows
– Stitch markers
– Basic knitting notions

We’re happy to help you choose your yarn and matching needles! Please stop by during our yarn hours before the workshop so we can help you get everything ready.

📝 Homework Before Class

This workshop requires a little preparation beforehand. Using your chosen DK-weight yarn, please cast on 30 stitches and knit 4 rows.

Leave your stitches on the needles and bring your prepared knitting to class, ready to learn lace knitting together!

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before the event are non-refundable and non-transferable.
